The Dutch welfare state is going through a great transition. Professionals and patients are dealing with major cutbacks and are being asked to partake in a new form of care.

The film Beter Samen in Noord (Better Together in Amsterdam-North) is intended for educational purposes and gives insight in this development. It is particularly focused on the professional that is on the foreground of this process and specifically in the North of Amsterdam. In this area live relatively many vulnerable households with multiple problems and reduced self-reliance. These people are connected to a large number of health and welfare professionals. An integrated approach is needed to support efficiency and prevent overlaps and gaps.

In addition to the earlier short film about a pilot project concerning the co-operation of different welfare and healthcare organizations in the North of Amsterdam, Brechtje Boeke Film Productions is developing a new film that will be available for a broad audience.
